Seven Day Spring Cleaning—Hoodoo-Style

Sunday: Make a floor wash of fresh rain water, white rum, and Luck Drops. Light a white seven day candle with an image of the Blessed Mother on it and ask for her assistance in cleansing and blessing your home.

Monday: Make a wash of coconut milk, rosebuds and mint and bathe in it. Burn red and a black votive candle and say “I invoke the aid of Ellegua to smooth all difficulties in my way”. Allow the water to drain and save a cup to dispose at the crossroads along with the candle wax remains and three pennies.

Tuesday: Make a wash of camphor, bluing crystals and fresh spring water. Add a bottle of Florida Water and proceed to wash your floor with the solution.

Wednesday: Purify your home with cigar smoke. Make a floor wash of fresh pond water and basil. Start at the back of your home and end at the front porch. Sprinkle a little salt on the front porch then sweep off. Hang an image of St. Lazarus behind the front door to safeguard the home against all illnesses. Light a blue candle and set a plate of peanuts next to the candle as an offering of thanks to St. Lazarus.

Thursday: In a bucket, mix a bottle of Pompeii Lotion and red flowers. Set seven white candles around the bucket and pray the prayer to the Guardian Angel. Then, wash the floor with the liquid. Flush the leftover wash down the toilet.

Friday: Mix up a wash of Fast Luck Oil, nutmeg and beer and wash your floors with it, concentrating on the front steps or entrance. While cleansing, say “Oh Divine Redeemer from the Congo, May you guide my every step and Grant me luck in all my endeavours.”

Saturday: Make a wash of 7 different perfumes and seven coins. Wash your floors with it and pour a cupful in a bath and bathe in it. Take the 7 coins and place them in front of an image of Marie Laveau and on Sunday offer the coins in church.
